    Relationship Ridiculousness

    2014 In Review

In review!  How the heck is it New Year's Eve?

What are you doing tonight?  We're having people over and making a thousand sausage cheddar balls because WHY NOT, and there will be babies (not mine) and dogs and food and champagne and it's going to be fabulous but low key.

I might not shower beforehand.  Not sure yet.

This is one of my favorite days of the year, not just of course because of the excuse to overeat and over drink or the sparkly everything, but I really do like reminiscing and thinking about our year - the good, bad, and ugly.  We've had a GREAT year, for the most part, and I consider myself so lucky to be a part of this life.

    So, let's look back!

    Avowed

    August 10, 2013 by Lindsay 5 Comments

    Today we're getting married.

    In a few hours, actually.

We decided to write our own vows, but just one set - and say them traditionally "I, take you...." that kind of thing.  Writing them together was interesting because....what do you say when your relationship is based on ACTIONS, not just "ooohhhh this is what I want to do more of."

It was an interesting exercise, and one I'm glad we did.  Vows are weird, that way. I'm glad we wrote our own, but I'm glad we're not reading anything - that would make me cry.  Our officiant (Jay's godfather) will have us repeat the words that we want to LIVE together, and, if all goes to plan, it'll be stupendous.

We're Going to be on Your Blog, Yes?

    Yes, pumpkins, you are.

My friends were here this weekend.  I told you that, remember?

It was the most epic of all the epic weekends before a wedding.

    On Being A Grownup

July 31, 2013 by Lindsay Leave a Comment

I found this on Facebook, and in honor of all the growing up we're doing around here (10 days!!) recently, I thought it best to share with you.  What would you add to it?

    1. I think part of a best friend's job should be to immediately clear your computer history if you die.

    2. Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.

    3. I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger.

    4. There is great need for a sarcasm font....and that would be the main theme for this blog.

    5. How the hell are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?

Wedding Deets - Into the Wee Hours?

    July 18, 2013 by Lindsay 4 Comments

We have another thing to figure out for this here wedding that we're having in TWENTY THREE DAYS.

That's not many days, friends.  insert confetti emoji here

Thank You MonogramIt's about the reception.  Right now, our schedule is as follows:

5pm cocktails, 5:30 ceremony, 6 - 9 reception.  They're all in the same place so there won't be any walking/transport time, and the ceremony will be about 20 minutes long - less if our officiant talks quickly.

So, besides a very slight lag, if folks get there at 5 we're looking at 4 hours of an open bar.

And now people are telling us that they HATED SO MUCH OMG when their receptions were over and that we should totally go until 10pm so that we don't HATE IT SO MUCH OMG.

So you know I need to know what you think!  This is just like those coasters.  I have too much time left (not really, but you know), and I'm rethinking decisions that were JUST FINE a few months ago.

So, you know I need your help.  Whatcha think?  Extend?  Leave as is?  Wait until the day of and make a game-time decision?  If cost WEREN'T a factor (it might be, still waiting to hear on that one), what would you do, as a bride/groom, family member, or guest?  We're looking for any perspectives that aren't hateful.

No one likes hateful perspectives, do they?

Thank you for telling me what to do.  I need a manager.

    As you were.
