Have you guys done this best nine pictures of the year on Instagram?  It took me awhile to figure out that the machine made the collage for you - I thought I'd just get to stroll down memory lane and pick images that spoke to me.

This way is fun too, though, and all of my pictures are pretty predictable except the center one - avocado pudding for the win, though!

Random side note:  I want to buy myself a blender.  Do you have a kind that you love or would recommend?  Tell me, tell me!

I think things like this are funny because if you ask me what defined my year, I'd of course say Beck's birth, but I'd also say things about our career and travel and Jay's leg.  And yet, when you look at this collage it's pretty clear that I was hell-bent on SHARING the fact that I was pregnant over and over again.  And now that I'm not pregnant anymore that part of my year seems so insignificant and far away, although at the time it was obviously consuming most of my thoughts.  Funny, these brains of ours.

The bottom left image makes me smile because Jay had broken his leg less than a week before we found out that Beck was a girl.  We found out together when I got back to the beach house where Jay was stuck, and he was all teary and happy, and I was super baffled.  I didn't care what we had, but I was SURE it was a boy, so for a few days, even after posting that sonogram, I was all "did they read it wrong?" and at the next ultrasound I still was half expecting them to say "oh, he's a grower, not a shower!" or something equally professional.  But homegirl is a girl, as you know.

I have more thoughts on the year to share later on, but if you haven't done this collage yet and are on Instagram, do it!  It's fun to look back.
