Five for Friday

  1. Not telling you your business, but making a batch of Whole30 Beef Chili this weekend, then eating it one night next week for a totally done meal prep situation is not a bad idea. We did it last weekend with this exact recipe and it was so nice to have a night taken care of!
  2. Wonderful, wonderful, WONDERFUL article on avoiding and managing work burnout, boundaries at work, etc. I can't recommend reading and internalizing this enough.
  3. We also made Grandbaby Cakes' chocolate cake for Beck's birthday last month, and wowowow. The recipe worked perfectly, the three layers were so fun - definitely will be revisiting this anytime a chocolate cake is called for.
  4. Potty training at night: Beck is 4, still wears a diaper at nap and night. Some books say YOUR CHILD IS A FAILURE AND SO ARE YOU for not somehow forcing something prior to this age. Some things written by doctors say "doesn't happen for some kids naturally until age 7, don't stress." The variance is really wide with this topic. Would love love love to know your story, thoughts, beliefs-backed-with-science, methods, all of it! I think so far that she falls into the category of "simply sleeps too hard to wake up at all," but who knows.
  5. What are you doing this weekend? We are having friends over for breakfast tomorrow morning, breaking down some boxes, hopefully some more organizing and decorating and an exciting trip to the dump. It's adult-ish and I kind of love it. Have a great one!
