Stick of Butter Rice (the easiest!)

A classic Southern Thanksgiving side dish - baked rice with mushrooms and TONS of flavor from stock and butter. GF, 8 ingredients.

Recipe Instructions:

Combine the stock and rice (uncooked in the bottom of a large skillet with a lid (or baking dish with a lid!)

Next:

Add half the sliced onion, seasonings, and cubed butter to the dish. Cover and bake until the rice is halfway cooked.

Then:

Add the mushrooms, the rest of the onions and butter, and continue cooking until the rice is tender and cooked through.

Make Ahead Tips: This baked rice is delicious at room temperature; you can make it early in the day and leave it covered on the counter until you'd like to serve! I prep the mushrooms and onions in advance so all you have to do on Thanksgiving is assemble the dish and stick it in the oven.
