Everyday Pancakes

Mark Bittman's everyday pancakes are truly the BEST pancakes for any time! These are the classic NYT Pancakes that everyone loves.

flour + butter baking powder salt + sugar vanilla eggs milk


step by step instructions:

Whisk together the dry ingredients and wet ingredients separately first until both mixtures are smooth. 

Combine the wet and dry ingredients, using a whisk if you need to to get out any lumps. 

Ladle the batter onto a buttered griddle or skillet 1/4 cup at a time until all the pancakes are cooked.

make ahead tips:

for travel, mix the dry ingredients and add eggs and milk for homemade pancake mix! leftovers store really well in the freezer; reheat in the oven at 350F or in the toaster for fresh pancakes in a hurry!
