So, you know we are getting married, right?
We're doing everything 100% in the wrong order, FYI.
There wasn't an engagement, per se. Basically, we bought a house, then decided we were gonna get married. Then, we made these cute gifts to ask 5 girls to be my bridesmaids, and Jay just kinda...texted 5 people to be on his side.

Men.....am I right?
So then we started talking about dates and venues and guest lists, and somewhere along the way we determined that even though we're super poor (slash have a lovely house) that maybe I DO want an engagement ring because they're pretty.
So then we started planning. Diamond? No? Fancy? Simple?
There was an inherited diamond that we had as an option, in a lovely size and cut.
BUT THEN I remembered that my grandmother gave me an aquamarine ring that was way too big for me years ago. I love it, but can't wear it. Her birthday and mine are 5 days apart, so we share the same birthstone!
I googled some pictures of non-diamond wedding ring sets, and there are LOTS. It's like, totally a thing. Did you know that? I didn't! So, we started talking to jewelers. Do you know how hard it is to give people money? The problem we encountered, mainly, is that we couldn't find a setting in the price range we had set at the right size for the stone I wanted to use.
We talked to SEVERAL jewelers. Some were nice, some were rude, some were just too expensive....it's been a process, to say the least.
So now we have a jeweler who seems (knock on all the wood) willing to work with us! Hurray! I know what style I want, but I have a major first world dilemma. Do I want stones on the band, like this?
Or do I want a plain band, like this?
This is a real question to that I change my mind about nearly once an hour, which is severely hindering my productivity. Do you have an opinion, if price and other factors weren't an issue? I can't figure out what will look best with a wedding band, and I'm kind of concerned about 1. either having too much silver or 2. too blingy if I go with diamonds on the band.
Help me, please? I'm lost.
Thank you.

Hello Lindsay, Love your blog!
I see your decided for huge diamond ring! 🙂
did you maybe also check wooden wedding rings trend? I'm really skeptical about the durability.
Examples of some simple and decent wooden wedding rings I've been looking for: http://www.weddingspell.com/2016/10/20/wooden-wedding-ring/
Thank you in advance!

Judy, I went with a family stone which is actually an aquamarine. No diamond for me, and I had it set in white gold. With the setting and wedding band we spent about $1,000 total. I didn't look at wooden rings, I don't know if that was a thing when we were getting married.

okay! Thank you for the info! 🙂

I like my stones on the side, but my diamond isn't very big. I like just the solitary for a bigger stone. Just my opinion!!

i personally think a solitaty stone is lovely. the jewels around the band would be too blingy for me...then again, you're talking to a girl who wants a matte gold wedding band...
