Well, we made it. All together, as a family, through the boring retelling of my wedding because I'm still totally obsessed with the entire day.

THANKS for not leaving me.
After the ceremony was over and we finished pictures, it was time to PLAY. There's always kind of an exhale at this point in a wedding, isn't there? Most important stuff is done, and you move on with the party. If things go wrong in a reception they usually end up being funny rather than devastating to a stressed out bride, right?
I drank enough champagne to have no stress, luckily.
After we walked in, we got to have our first dance and dance with Jay's mom and my dad, respectively. We used Pearl Jam's Just Breathe as our first song, and did one song for all three of the aforementioned dances. When we started dancing my bustle came unhooked (a recurring theme - the more scotch Jay drank, the more often he stepped on my dress and claimed it was me), so my sister fixed it. Rory, not wanting Jay to be left out, proceeded to straighten HIS suit for approximately 10 years.
Jay and I danced for one verse, then we grabbed the parents and finished the song. I have a thing in my heart that makes me uncomfortable and thirsty to watch 2 people dance for 3 songs, so we just did one. It worked for us. Sorry if you love watching other people dance for 10 minutes.
Then, fun pictures!
And marriage license! That was super fun - the time where people got all their "not too late to turn back!" jokes out which....I get it. It's funny-ish to pretend that marriage is a huge drag and we were making a huge mistake? I went with it.
The rest of the night was super duper fun. My dad made a toast, but other than that we didn't do anything very structured. Dinner was a buffet with heavy hors d'oeuvres, so people snacked throughout the night.
We did cut the cake, which was hilarious. First, our 4 year old niece "helped" with the back of my dress so it'd be pretty in pictures. And then I did this?
Help me. I don't understand my face.
We had some photobombing...
....and I kissed another boy.
Dancing and talking and hugging was SO much fun, and we were glad we extended the wedding an hour like you suggested!
Also! Here's our photographer and her husband! I think Chris and I make a really cute couple, don't you?
In case you missed it, here's our
Up next.....maternity pictures!
Syke.
