It's December! How is it December. That's not even a question, it's more....an incredulous statement. Where did the year GO? One week from tomorrow our baby turns 1. This was the first picture I took of the 2 of us, a few hours after she was born.
I remember this day so vividly from last year. Not the day in particular, I guess I went to work and I posted a few maternity pictures and some pregnancy favs (if you're pregnant you can read them but if not just laugh) and went on with my day.
I remember, though, thinking this is the month that my daughter will be born. And, of course, I had no clue what that meant, but looking back I was SO excited, SO nesty and doing a million things all the time, and SO ready, as ready as one can be for something that you have no clue how to prepare for. Jay and I were talking last year about how we're so glad Beck was born around the holidays, because her birthday is so close to his, and we have Thanksgiving and Christmas, and I'll forever remember cluster feeding and alternating champagne and water on New Year's Eve at our friends' house (they were pregnant at the time too) while talking exclusively about this little 3 week old terrorist. The holidays are nostalgic enough, but this just kills it for me.
She's totally wearing a tutu for her birthday party next week, btw.
