It was brought to my attention yesterday that next week is spring break for Clemson University, where I'M A STUDENT.
I have a lot going on. Sheesh.
Spring break doesn't mean a ton to people who work multiple jobs, but it does mean that one night next week that I would be in class I'll be cooking dinner for 2 classmates while we work on a project. SO BREAK-Y! We're one step away from Girls Gone Wild, my classmates and I.
Anyway, I know that real humans probably have real plans for any upcoming breaks. So, in honor of those of you who might be seeing some sunshine in the coming weeks, I've GOT to tell you about this restaurant - Poe's Tavern on Sullivan's Island, SC. My 3 bff's and I went last year for a weekend away, which was essentially the best part of my year. Minus buying a house and getting engaged kind of and getting a new job and having my first set of counseling clients.
It was tied with those things, is what I mean. 2012 was a good year.
But this place. The entire point of our girls' weekend was to do nothing but cook/eat/drink/sleep. We did VERY well at making our point. We ate at restaurants, made these fish tacos for my friend Addie's birthday (they're her favorite, she orders them everywhere we go), watched crappy girl TV, and slept for MANY hours.
Do you ever feel like you have it all together, and then you plan a beach weekend with your girlfriends and get all excited and then you realize that you're running yourself ragged and you've NEVER NEEDED TO GET AWAY MORE and you're so grateful to have friends that you can escape your life with?
Fine. I'm alone in this quest to do everythingallatoncewithoutanysleep? You people are just un-American.
And I'm going to the beach today!
And I'm REALLY happy about it.
