Swedish Gooey Chocolate Cake (Kladdkaka)

Description

A delicious, super simple cake with just six ingredients that takes 20 minutes to bake but tastes so special and indulgent.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 3/4 sticks salted butter
  • 7 ounces dark baking chocolate (I use Ghirardelli baking bars)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose or cake flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher or sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350F and grease an 8-inch springform pan.
  2. Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over low heat. Add the chocolate and stir to combine until the chocolate and butter are melted together.
  3. Take the pan off the heat (turn the heat off) and stir in the eggs, sugar, flour, and salt. Stir quickly to prevent the eggs from scrambling.
  4. Pour the batter into the springform pan and bake for 20-25 minutes until the cake is bubbly on top but still jiggly at the center. Let the cake cool completely in the pan.
  5. Before slicing, remove the edge of the springform and cut slices directly from the pan. Enjoy!
