Pepper Jelly and Cream Cheese Appetizer

IMG_1483Happy Friday!

I'm grateful it's Friday.

Weeks after holidays are a little rough for me.  Mainly because I always like to be vacating.

Great news, though!  I'm going out of town tonight.  With Jay.  For his birthday.  You'll be shocked to know that we're going to a comedy show.  SHOCKING.

This is an appetizer that I made last week for Thanksgiving.  It's kind of a retro app that isn't around all that much anymore, but MAN, is it good.  And easy.

There are only 5 ingredients, and one of them is "crackers, for serving."

You MUST try this.  Go.

Here's what you need!

  • 1 8 oz package softened cream cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ teaspoon seasoned salt
  • ¼ cup pepper jelly
  • crackers or bread, for serving

Duh.  So freaking easy.  To prep this bad boy, mix the cream cheese with the salt and worcestershire in a small bowl.

Then, prep a plastic food storage container with a layer of plastic wrap.  Any shape container will do!  Spread the cream cheese in the plastic-wrapped container, then cover with the lid and let it chill for an hour or 7 days....you can make this well in advance.

When you're ready to serve, invert the cream cheese on a plate and peel off the plastic wrap.

Spread the top with pepper jelly, and whoa.  We have ourselves an appetizer!

This is great on crackers, but you could serve it however you like!  It's quick, easy, and super tasty.  Make it this weekend for people you love.

I wonder if you used a large Christmas tree cookie cutter, it could be a "mold" to shape the creme cheese....?

Absolutely! Just be sure to spray with cooking spray really well so the cream cheese doesn't stick to the mold.

I LOVE Jalapeno Jelly, in fact I just was eating it over a block of plain cream cheese the other day. I am SO excited to try your version, mmm! Thanks for faithfully coming to bring me food at Weekend Potluck! LOL 🙂
