I feel like I say this about all baby gear that we like, but this is DEFINITELY my favorite thing. Maybe because it's a product for grownups too! Finally.

When I had Will, I knew I was going to need some kind of new diaper bag situation. Beck has all but gotten to the point where she requires very little out in public (can drink and eat without kid stuff at a restaurant, doesn't often get super dirty, etc), but I knew that having a new baby would bring new things to haul around that I'd completely forgotten about.
Also at this time, Beck started potty training (in the loosest sense of the word, just go with it), so SHE all of a sudden needed extra everything at every turn. Couple that with the fact that I also needed more hands for everything all the time (bringing back the infant carrier but now with a little kid on one arm), and I knew a backpack was in my future.
I looked at tons and tons of regular backpacks, diaper bag hybrid situations, things we already had, all of it. This one came back to me time and time again: The Lily Jade Madeline. I'd heard of Lily Jade with Beck but was gifted a lovely diaper bag from a friend so didn't need to do much research last time. This time, I really wanted a great backpack that didn't look diaper-bag-ish, had tons of pockets, and felt adult for me but functional enough for the kids.
This is that!
It's a bag shoulder straps and one long strap that can be used as a stroller strap, crossbody strap, or formed into backpack....arms...wings...loops? You know what I mean. I've had this bag in the backpack setup since day one, and I use it on my back when I'm with the kids and on my shoulder when I'm alone.
There are several Lily Jade bags, all gorgeous, all in a variety of colors. They come in leather or canvas, which I dig for more rugged lifestyles. I have the camel colored leather which I love, and it's seen rain, puke, and tons of food products and has held up really well so far.
The other piece that sets Lily Jade apart is the removeable organizer, which I love. You can actually buy the organizer separately and convert any bag you like to a diaper bag this way! The organizer has tons of pockets for random baby things that get stuck at the bottom of bags, and can be taken out, washed, or just left somewhere if you're dropping the baby off and want to keep the bag with you.
No joke, here's what is usually in my Madeline when we leave the house:
- wipes
- diaper for Will and Beck
- rolled up changing pad (the bag comes with a beautiful one, not pictured here because Beck took it and won't give it back and yes I have everything under control here it's fine)
- Outfit for Will including socks and hat just in case even now that it's 90 degrees
- Toy for Will
- Water bottle for me
- Water bottle for Beck
- 2-3 snacks for Beck
- Keys
- Wallet
- Phone
- sunglasses with hard case
- Cash (there's a super flat pocket that we keep cash in for tips, etc)\
- chapstick
- earbuds
- napkins
- plastic bags for wet sad things
With this entire list, there's still room so I can add extra entertainment or clothes etc if we're going to be gone for a long time. I've also used this just for Will as a suitcase when we travel and can easily get 5 baby outfits plus the correct amount of diapers, wipes, swaddles, and burp cloths in here. I LOVE the size.
Honestly, I can't say enough good things about this bag. I love the look and functionality of it, and know that I'll use it long after I'm hauling around this massive quantity of kid stuff, which will be happy/sad, as most things in parenting are. We love this bag!
If you want to see more of our baby gear faves, I have tons of lists!
this isn't a sponsored post, but lily jade did send me the diaper bag to try. my opinions here are real; i use this bag every single day whether or not i have the kids with me. i love it!
