Five for Friday

  1. Will finally got to start at HIS school this week, to much fanfare and excitement. He's thrilled, and we love it because it's a school we know (Beck went there) so it feels less like ALL of us being new like we do at Beck's school. Highlights have included "my favowite thing is when we eat wunch!" Every. Day. And, like, same.
  2. Definitely the time of year where I'm hunting after alllllll the tomato pie, and this version with biscuits looks particularly yummy.
  3. I have determined that I really prefer novels that have short chapters. Long chapters make life feel more insurmountable. Dramatic, maybe, but I stand by it.
  4. Beck talking on the phone (I know, I know), to her preschool BFF a few days ago: "they have a cafeteria at MY school." "They have a cafeteria at MY SCHOOL TOO!" and...on and on about literally every feature of public schools. Because they do not know that they are all the same. I don't know why, but this cracks me up.
  5. Happy weekend! We have a pool birthday party and some friends coming into town and I'm just very excited for some outdoor social time in the midst of yet another hard COVID week. Stay well, get vaccinated, amen. Have a great one!
