- We went to the ZOO this week for spring break after over a year away. We went with every other child and their parents in our town, and about 70% of folks respected the "masks, even outdoors" rule. The other people were not my people. Overall it was lovely and the kids loved it, minus the "heat," aka 77 degrees, which was very distressing to my children. Just you wait, kiddos.
- Have been working on a new banana bread recipe from this Bon Appetit version, and it's really, really good. How do we feel about olive oil in baked goods?
- In other hardships of childhood, I ordered the kids some new water bottles after two in a row broke. Beck informed a few people that "no, I didn't pick them out and neither did Mama, they just came in the mail." Like we have our own personal Santa just FULL of money and great ideas. This feels like a parenting failure, but I'm not ready to admit that yet.
- I'm in a cycle of clothing doom where all the stuff I wore before the pandemic was nursing stuff, I've given a lot of it away, and all the stuff I wore before THAT was maternity stuff, and I've given all of that away, and all the stuff I wore before THAT was 3+ years ago, and I don't like it or it doesn't fit or a combo of the two. Where does one buy cool but not too expensive but good-fitting but not too trendy clothes? Should be easy, right? Help.
- Making some homemade ranch this weekend for a fun small Master's get-together! The food keeps me occupied while the golf entertains Jay, and all's right with the world. The ranch, for what it's worth, is really, really good and gets devoured every time. Have a great one!
Chiming in to express gratitude that you are part of the internet! I feel great about olive oil in baked goods, am glad Beck thinks you all have your own personal Santa, and, well, I get about two pieces of clothing a year, from Costco and Goodwill. So that is probably not helpful. Also I feel vaguely creepy knowing so much about your children. The internet is weird! But I am glad you keep writing things on it!
Haha, the internet is SO weird. But so are my kids, so maybe it all checks out. 🙂
