  1. One year in lockdown, whoa. One year ago we made this tater tot-topped pot pie, my sister brought us slow cooker chicken tortellini soup, and honestly the need for comfort food seems to have just kept on keepin' on, right?
  2. Another hallmark of this pandemic seems to be a thing where I say I'm going to do something 99 times before it actually happens, aka VERY slow progress on all things in life. My dad informed me that I've mentioned our winter garden a few times, but I'm happy to report that we actually got seeds in the ground last weekend! We planted kale, lettuce, peas, beets, carrots, potatoes, and radishes. In theory some of it will produce food, but let's not get ahead of ourselves. The goal was planting, and we did that.
  3. I....felt like nothing about the Harry and Meghan interview was particularly shocking. Did you? The racism, asking for mental health help and not getting it, more focus on appearance than human beings....maybe I'm cynical, but to me the most bombshell part of any of it was that it was simply being discussed. What did you think?
  4. Jay got in line this this week for the COVID vaccine in our state, and got his first Moderna shot last night! Every time someone I know gets theirs I feel the tiniest bit of an exhale.
  5. Weekend plans! We are still slightly stuck in weekends that feel like weekdays, but we're using the no-knead bread dough to make pizza tonight at Beck's request. The "method" is: mush it into the edges of the pan as flat as it'll go, add toppings, bake at 500F for 10-14 minutes until it looks vaguely like pizza. It stays fairly thick, but is really, really good. Have a great weekend!
