Five for Friday

  1. Once this week, and once during quarantine, so once total, I got up before the kids and did yoga in my office. It was glorious and one of my absolute best days of all this, and no of course I have no plans to repeat something that was healthy and good. Here's some more details on our daily schedule, in case you missed it the other day!
  2. Similarly, I was in a huge funk yesterday and used a work break to make brownies - the second most popular recipe on this site, yep. In said funk, I omitted the flour. And then went into a pretty quick "I CAN'T DO ANYTHING RIGHT" spiral but luckily they turned out....fine. Different, but fine. I am mostly over the shame.
  3. Continuing with "all I think about is chocolate," I made this quinoa cake last weekend because why not, and it was SO good. Result was like a big iced brownie, didn't ~taste~ healthy or gimmicky. Will definitely be making again!
  4. Beck tried plantains this week when we got cuban takeout, and was fully obsessed, obviously, because fried plantains are amazing. I'm going to grab some and play around with them. Do you use plantains? What do you love them in? Leave some recipe links!
  5. What are you doing to make the weekend weekend-y? We are making strawberry pie, playing in the hose (going to be 85 on Sunday!), and ordering sushi tomorrow night. I should probably clean literally anything but....why, you know? Imma rest. Have a great one!
