Five for Friday

  1. Almost exactly a year ago I posted these Korean Chicken Rice Bowls with the sauce inspired from Jessica's latest book. We make the sauce OFTEN and have used it on steak, chicken, salmon, and veggies! Can't recommend a batch of the sauce for your weekly meal prep highly enough.
  2. Things I Never Thought I'd Say:  "Ok, Beck, I'll go use the computer and then you can have it when your Zoom starts." "Ok, Mama." WTF is this time we are living in.
  3. Our COVID week has pretty much entailed NATURE such as a bird building a nest practically attached to our kitchen window and Jay and I gravely wondering if Bertha the black garden snake will eat the eggs before they hatch. Eek.
  4. This morning I dropped our kids off at my parents' house (they're part of our quarantine because I can't do my counseling work with kids here), and my dad was like "did you get new shoes?" and, no, just had only worn uggs or Chacos for literally the last 6 weeks every time he's seen me. Felt fancy. They were sneakers.
  5. Happy Weekend and DON'T FORGET TO MAKE IT A WEEKEND! Now has never been a more important time to make weekends fun, I think. We are getting Spanish takeout tonight and planting more garden things this weekend, going to get out the water tables and try to work less/play more. If you have any "keep kids entertained" tips that aren't straight screen time, I'm allllll ears. Gonna be a long summer.
