- Drawers are a point of contention in our house right now. The ONLY way I can get ready with Beck around/awake is to let her play in our bathroom drawers (they're teeny, not terribly exciting), and the ONLY thing she wants to play with is glass perfume/cologne bottles. She knows she's not supposed to, so she'll grab one (usually when I'm eyeball deep in makeup), look at me so impishly, and say NOOOOOOO and then run down the hall. It's adorable. And naughty. So I run to catch her, and before I need to say anything she hands me the glass bottle and says "take this away from you," because she knows that "If you can't put it away alone, I'll take it away from you." I'm not sure yet she knows that having things taken away is a bad thing.
- I've obviously been alllll about the stewed meats this week, and have a few more coming, but doesn't this Braised Beef Orzo look ridiculously good? Give me all the beefy pasta-y things.
- We broke down and turned on the heat. The Battle of Wills and Frigid Fingertips ended earlier than usual this year because of Beck. Her room is WAY colder than ours, and the house got to 62F so...we did it. RIP super low energy bill.
- People totally follow or unfollow you on Instagram based on ONE post that does or does not fit their idea of what you should be in this world. I know that some people have Insta's for different things (food, life, fashion, etc), but I just can't get into that. It's not a bad thing at all, just not for me. But with the whole unfollowing thing, why not just look at someone's feed for FIVE SECONDS to see if they're about the exact one teeny niche-y thing you want them to be about? Also please follow me, it's almost all food and toddlers which have nothing to do with each other except for the fact that they are both a part of life which means...they belong together duh. This entire paragraph is proof that I don't understand the internet, so let's be in it together.
- Happy Friday! We have nothing planned for tonight, mercifully, and tomorrow I have a training for work. BUT THEN, tomorrow night we are having a girls' night and going out to a new-ish fancy-ish Italian restaurant, and Sunday Jay and I are taking Beck to Asheville for the day to attempt to see some leaves while not freezing because #climatechange and we aren't used to the cold. It's going to be a great one, though. Enjoy it!
