- I'm definitely still not over the eclipse. It was so magical and wonderful and way too short, which is what makes it so special, I know. I also just really loved the opportunity to celebrate nature via not working in the middle of a Monday. Every time I've seen someone this week the first comment after "how are you?" is "what did you do for the eclipse?"
- My youngest sister is moving to New York City on SUNDAY. I can't believe it, the summer went way too fast and WHERE IS MY BABY SISTER GOING. We go to the city once per year for work and adore it, and I'm absolutely adding some trips starting in just a few weeks. BUT, what do you love to do living-wise in NYC? I'm thinking non-touristy things, tips and tricks to not go bankrupt, all of that good stuff. We'd love your comments!
- Sometimes when I'm reading recipes I mistake the word "carefully" for "casually" and I have no clue why. But then it ends up being "casually transfer the soup to the blender, being careful not to..." and just sounds...so dumb. Awesome story.
- My friend Emily sent me this article on becoming a mother and some of the good-and-bad-at-the-same-time changes that occur in the first several months and years of parenting. I think it's a wonderful, easy read that can explain what most mothers go through, and a nice reminder to just be gentle with ourselves and other new mothers no matter what challenges they are facing.
- What is happening this weekend?! Jay is golfing AND watching the fight AND doing his Fantasy draft, so he's stereotyping it up. Beck and I have a walk to the market planned, she's going to have some grandparent time, and I'm going to ... eat leftovers and attempt to catch up on laundry and work that always seems to be in a pile. Beck will also be probably wearing her goggles even if she isn't in the pool, so there's that.
