Beck's 2nd Birthday

....in very bad pictures.

Beck turned two on Saturday! And Beck acted like she was two on Saturday.

There will be a separate About a Beck post with talk of development and how much I love her, but this is about the actual day. Beck actually spent the night before her birthday at my parents' house, so we had the morning to decorate and clean and cook for her party without her, which in fact makes for a much better party, honestly. We picked her up still in her jammies (it was a snow day), and she was SO excited to come home to "some new balloons!" I have no idea when we have had old balloons, but ok.

The rest of the party prep involved attempting to take pictures (white onesie, tutu, Jordan's, duh), and there are literally pictures of Beck saying every syllable of "I don't WANT to smile for pictures!!"

So she didn't.

The party itself, though, was lovely! Our besties got together to get Beck a TRIKE, which has been used only indoors so far because naturally. Her grandparents got her a slew of lovely gifts that have all been played with and tested out to great fanfare.

We had yummy snacks, cupcakes, champagne, and a few of our friends with toddlers stayed over after the party to rehash the last year and make fun of our kids attempting to play together, as we do.

It was the best day, and the second birthday party (!!) of so many more to come.

Until next year, we'll just be feelin' our tutu and refusing to smile for cameras. Which, as Beck will tell you, is fine because "mybodymychoice."

She literally knows to say that at the right times, and I feel like that means we've accomplished plenty in two years.
