- When I made the gnocchi/spinach meal last week for these photographs, Beck was super interested but not necessarily wanting to taste the food. She finally ate one of the gnocchi after trying to say the word about ten times in a row, and of course liked it because it's basically buttery pasta. I think she's starting to get it that the things I photograph are the good things, so it's a fun way to get her to try new things. This is her wearing full-body reindeer jammies from my grandmother.
- Speaking of the gnocchi, though, it's so easy that there isn't really any meal prep involved. BUT, having the ingredients in your fridge this weekend could guarantee you a 15-minute meal one night next week, so add the stuff to your list!
- Will had his two month appointment this week, which included shots (yes to vaccines) that made him cry for about 30 seconds before looking at me with the sort of indignation that I can only imagine will serve him well as a teenager. It was hilarious, and he weighs almost 12 pounds, so I assume he'll sleep through the night annnnny day now. (this is fake news)
- I'm feeling super hopeful by the roll out of the candidates running in the Democratic primaries next year. I keep hearing that we should 1. do our research and 2. pick one to vote for in the primaries but then 3. back whoever gets the nomination a thousand percent, which I wholeheartedly agree with + plan to do. Of those who have announced so far, I'm very into Elizabeth Warren's economic ideas - well thought-out, innovative but realistic at the same time, plus she's spend her entire life working on this rather than just being a politician, which I think is appealing to a variety of folks.
- We're taking our first trip with both kids this weekend! To a cabin in the woods with friends who also have littles. It's going to rain the whole time and be super duper cold, so we are basically packing up our entire lives to watch Netflix and give the toddlers too many carbs in another location. I'm not being sarcastic when I say that I can't WAIT. I'm not taking my computer and am v excited about this. Have a fabulous weekend! Eat yummy food and tell me what it is so I can make it for us.
