- Beck spent the evening at the doctor last night for something she refers to as "my bottom hurts a little bit" coupled with zero appetite, some lethargy, and a fever that goes up and down. Some blood work and an effing baby catheter later ("it takes just a few seconds," they lied), the instant labs came back inconclusive and we wait for more tests and an x-ray later today. And our pediatrician is out of network all of a sudden this year for our insurance because of LITERALLY the current presidential administration so if anyone wants to discuss "how is this really affecting you" with me today or any day bring it on and I'll show you some facts and bills. I'm fine though. Everything is fine.
- Speaking of parenting, you guys are REALLY nice about this whole I'm-pregnant-again thing. Seriously, thank you.
- Clearly I'm way behind on food trends always, but I've been seeing the TJ's everything bagel seasoning and dying to 1. buy it and 2. use it for something new and fun and summery. This pasta looks amazing, and now I'm all...let's Everything everything.
- I saw online last night that one of my high school buddies died this week in an accident. He was married to a woman with a child who's father had also died, and was a phenom stepfather by all accounts. We weren't still in touch, but UGH doesn't begin to describe it. He was phenomenal as a teenager, and apparently stayed that way for his entirely too short life.
- For the weekend we have no plans, which works well for the possible baby bladder infection we're working with. I'm thinking cutting up lots of fruit and Moana on repeat and couch forts, which always seem to make our little love feel better. Chores can wait.
I hope she feels better soon!
And yes, in the “how is this really affecting you?” world, my eye doctor doesn’t take my new insurance, so it’s all, 100%, on me. Luckily they let me pay in installments. And I got new fancy contacts.
