    Denver Weekend, Part 3

July 9, 2015 by Lindsay Leave a Comment

....and final part, thank g for anyone that hates this kind of posts.  20150622_083337

SO, after we ate all day Saturday and wandered all day Sunday, we had a little more time before I came home, BUT Jay did have to work a little bit.  We also had Jay's coworker with us starting on Monday at lunchtime, which was great because we don't really like each other all that much.

    Not really.

Monday early for breakfast (Before Jay had to start working) we went to Snooze, which EVERYONE had recommended to us.  Strangers on planes, the internet, friends who had been to visit AND who lived in Denver - not one person that we asked didn't mention this restaurant.  So, to Snooze we went!

    From Jay! 1st Trimester Recap

July 8, 2015 by Lindsay Leave a Comment

Everything could be something great and everything could be something terrible.  That is the best description of my outlook through the first trimester of Lindsay's pregnancy.  The great and terrible are the two sides of the coin and parenthood is one big coin toss.  However, I believe that my child will be great and I myself will be terrible.  I’m not joking.  I’m already failing at an alarming rate.  I dropped our neighbor’s kid just the other night and it bonked his tiny head right off our hardwood floors.  You know the shame you feel when you break a glass, have a car wreck?  All of those pale in comparison to the immense guilt you have when you think you’ve broken a small human that doesn’t belong to you.  If it’s your own kid you can write it off and say, “Well, we’ll just make a new one.”  I felt as if I’d collected all of their family heirlooms and set them on fire in front of them.  And the entire reason I let the kid fall is because I was worried about getting drool on my television remote control.  Great decision making Jay!  Possibly have to buy a new remote, or kill a baby?

    Denver Weekend, Part 2

July 7, 2015 by Lindsay Leave a Comment

So, after our first epic day eating our way through downtown, we decided on Sunday to get out of the city.  Jay wanted to see the mountains we could see from our hotel room, and the Rockies are only 30 or so miles away, so while we were at brunch we made the decision to stay away from downtown for the first part of the day.  wpid-20150621_120045-01.jpeg

    Denver Weekend, Part 1

    July 6, 2015 by Lindsay 1 Comment

I just realized I didn't tell you about Denver yet.  20150620_133427

It was the best ever and we loved it and want to move but obviously it's really far away and we have no clue what we'd do there.

    You know how it goes.

It's true, though!  We had a blast and even though Jay was there for work, I had a great time doing our fav city method:  eat, walk, google, instagram, repeat.  Seriously.  Might be the lamest ever, but it works for us and that's all that matters.

Spicy Turkey Burgers + Garlic Lemon Mayo

    July 2, 2015 by Lindsay 4 Comments

The best easy spicy turkey burgers! These can be cooked in a cast iron skillet or on the grill and are a great meal prep option to serve over salads throughout the week. My smashburgers are a great easy beef hamburger recipe if you'd like to go a traditional route!

It's almost here it's almost here!

    The long weekend.

I actually don't care what you think about patriotism, and does it seem this year especially that patriotism seems a little...off...somehow?  I don't know, maybe I'm just friends with the wrong people on Facebook and they're clouding my vision.  Or I'm in a bad mood. Who knows.

This weekend we just need a delicious but healthy burger recipe, though, right?

And you need to make these Spicy Turkey Burgers.  Seriously.  They aren't crazy fancy, but the garlic lemon mayo is juuuuuust different enough that no one will be able to accuse you of making boring turkey burgers.  The key here is the blackening meat seasoning, which are pretty strong and spicy and just GOOD, something else I think is really necessary in a turkey burger because ground turkey otherwise can be kind of flavorless.

    Let's burger!
