It has happened, folks. Wedding invitations have been sent out.
Whatever, I'm over it. I wanna tell you about the invitations. As was everything with our wedding, budget and simplicity and functionality were key for us. I used the interwebz for ideas, and came VERY close to ordering some online. There are some really cute ones on several affordable websites.
However, the affordable part usually comes once you order 150 or more. We needed 30 invitations.
SO. I called my fav printer, who does a lot of work for me via my nonprofit job. I know the girls that work there pretty well, and they gave me a quote for 40 invitations, 40 rsvp inserts, and 150 thank you notes.
All under $150. That'll do pig, that'll do.
BOOM. Not lime green, and I have no clue why the green isn't showing up true to it's real color on this here website. A wedding invitation that no one else has, for super cheap, produced by a local company, and designed partially by me.
It was exactly what I wanted. Now, I'll be the first to say over and over again that I don't believe an invitation, no matter how perfect or expensive or ANYTHING, will change the quality of a marriage. BUT, it's kind of nice when things work out nicely, doncha think?
No RSVP envelope; we're doing that online. Again, not lime green. A good green. There are maybe 2 total humans on our list who can't do an online RSVP, and we know whether or not they're coming. It's fast, cost efficient, environmentally sound, and makes sense for the world we're living in today. I do as much business as I can online, and I don't think I'm alone in that! We sent the invitations on Friday and have already received several RSVPs.
I love our website, too. You can check it out if you're feeling nosy! I looked at a lot of free websites before we settled on WeddingWire. The main thing we liked was that it had locked RSVPs (no password, you just have to be on the guest list already to RSVP) without needing a log-in or anything confusing. Also, RSVPs for more than one person in a family or to more than one event were something we wanted to be SIMPLE, and this was the best version we found.
So that's it, friends. Invitations are out, and we're moving onto final preparations! We're starting to work on our local reception, too, which will have LOTS more people in attendance. We're going to use that event as another way to find really simple local options just like the invitations - an easy method for getting a really personalized feel without breaking the bank.
Also. I gotta ring. I'll show it to you soon. Or you can cheat and find the pictures of it on Instagram. I won't tell anyone.
