Two years ago my family got me a subscription to Food Network Magazine.
I love it.
I have literally cancelled all other publications that I used to subscribe to, but I'll NEVER let this one go.
I can't let it go.
Usually I read through the entire thing all at once, but I rarely cook with any of the recipes.
That's because I don't use recipes.
Duh.
Once, however, I wanted to make cookies. I stink at baking, so I found this glorious recipe for chewy chocolate chip cookies.
You can find it by clicking here!
The recipe is easy.
You know the drill! You combine wet ingredients, add dry ingredients, form a dough, etc. You can totally do this. I suck at baking, and my cookies turned out great!
I, of course, didn't have enough chocolate chips to make an entire recipe. Or, any.
I DID, however, have other random foods that I wanted to put in the cookies!
As long as you use the same total amount of mixins that the recipe calls for in chocolate chips, you'll be fine. Get creative!
The cookies are delicious.
That's all there is to it.
The recipe says to chill the dough before forming into cookies. DO THIS! It's so the butter doesn't freak out and melt too fast, which makes cookies spread like whoa. Chilled dough results in a more evenly formed cookie, which is a good thing.
I use parchment paper because I think it's nice and slippery for the cookies, but you can just use butter or cooking spray if that's all you've got!
I like to undercook the cookies by one or two minutes, but that's just me. They're extra chewy that way!
These are DELICIOUS - Food Network did us a favor with this recipe! Try them today, and let me know what fun changes you make to make them your own!
That's what I'm talking about! Cookies are designed for both-hands-shove-in-mouth eating! I think this goes along perfectly with this blog...
