2 Months to go + Advice, please.

Last Updated: May 2021 Published: Jun 10, 2013 by Lindsay This post may contain affiliate links to products I use and enjoy. 3 Comments

In 61 days I'm marrying the reason I started this here blog.

A funny man who I'm totally in love with.

Yippee!

2 months from today.  8.5 weeks.  It's coming fast, y'all!

We'd like some advice from YOU.  Yes, you!  See, we're writing our own ceremony, which will be performed by Jay's godfather Lee.  We're incorporating some traditional elements, a yogic prayer, and, if you'll help us, advice from the world on how to excel at marriage.

Plenty of people can be married for a long time.  We want more than that though.

So, what's your best advice?  Don't go to bed angry?  Pick your battles wisely?  Don't get fat and ugly too soon after the wedding?

Shoot anything you've got in the comments, or you can email us if that makes you feel more comfortable.  Or you can PM us on Facebook.  Or comment on the Facebook link.  We'll use some of our favorites in our wedding, and I'll post as many as I can here in the coming weeks.

Thanks in advance for caring about our future.  We appreciate the love.

Don't be a stranger to each other. Share your thoughts: hopes and fears, dreams and nightmares. Being married is not easy, but it could be awesome if you are always honest to the other. The person who will be by your side should anticipate when you need him most: for the happy times and not so happy times.

    Best wishes! 🙂

Focus on what's at home... If you don't, you might not have a home to come home to. ((or, prioritize yourselves - you, Jay, and y'all --all three - above EVERYTHING)) XOXO

My advice is don't listen to advice of others, Make your own tracks. You'll know best when the time comes. And if you don't? Meh. It's like a wonderful carousel ride: fun at first, makes you sick at times, but you keep putting coins in for another go. You'll never want it to stop.

Congrats, and best in life to you both!
